Holding of the Winter Japanese Program “Learning about Snow and Culture in Niigata”
UNP will host the Winter Japanese Program titled “Learning about Snow and Culture in Niigata” in January 2027, specifically designed for students studying Japanese at our partner universities.
In addition to Japanese language classes, this program offers opportunities to experience the lifestyle and culture of Japan’s snow country through activities such as shopping at local markets, cooking Japanese cuisine, and a 3-day, 2-night field trip to Tokamachi City.

Program Title: Winter Japanese Program “Learning about Snow and Culture in Niigata”
Dates: January 13 (Wed) – January 22 (Fri), 2027 [10 days]
Target Applicants: Approx. 10 students studying Japanese at partner universities
Fees: Program participation and accommodation are free of charge
(Travel expenses to/from Niigata and meal costs are the participant’s responsibility)
Requirements: Japanese proficiency equivalent to N3 level or above; ability to share experiences and final products via social media or video
Application Deadline: September 30, 2026
