International exchange students, etc.
The University of Niigata Prefecture accepts international students from partner universities with which exchange agreements have been concluded for a period of between one semester and 2 semesters. International exchange students can receive credit for classes attended, subject to assessment and evaluation.
The number of international exchange students accepted each year is stipulated in the individual agreements with partner universities and tuition and entrance fees are waived for these students. In addition, accommodation for international exchange students is available close to the university (rented private sector apartments), which can be used only for the duration of study.
Students wishing to study at the University of Niigata Prefecture as international exchange students should consult with the international exchange division at their own universities and seek a recommendation.
Support for International Students
International undergraduate students and international exchange students are each assigned an academic advisor.
International undergraduate students meet with their academic advisor at the beginning of April and October to discuss and decide what classes they will take for the semester.
The academic advisor is always available to provide advice about classes or academic matters in general.
Office of International Exchange
The Office of International Exchange responds to all inquiries relating to international students, including status of residence, official procedures such as resident registration, and scholarship-related matters. Any international student with questions or problems concerning academic matters or daily life can get advice from the Office of International Exchange as well as from his or her academic advisor.
