Institute Overview

ERINA-UNP collaborates with domestic and international researchers to study the socioeconomics of Northeast Asia from multiple perspectives. Our mission is to disseminate the findings to educational and research institutions as well as to a wide range of people.

Three Research Pillars

Socioeconomic Basic Research

Fundamental research on the economy, society, and politics of the five countries in Northeast Asia (China, Russia, Mongolia, ROK, and DPRK)

Project Research

Investigative research on issues related to the economy, industry, and local community of Niigata, which is developing while coexisting with the Asia-Pacific region including Northeast Asia and Eurasia

Social Contribution

Providing knowledge and learning opportunities for a wide range of people, such as providing education to administrative and economic organizations, and holding seminars for enterprises and symposiums for prefectural residents

Investigative Research Initiatives

  • Promoting research that contributes to policies related to Niigata Prefecture and Northeast Asia based on Niigata Prefecture’s international strategy to become a core exchange center in Northeast Asia
  • For project research, researchers from domestic and international university research institutes will be widely invited to participate. We will perform high-quality research meeting international standards as an open research organization.
