International Exchange Center
Message from the Director
Professor, Faculty of Human Life Studies
Director, International Exchange Center
One of the three basic principles of the University of Niigata Prefecture is the “Development of an International Perspective.”In order to realize this principle, the International Exchange Center was launched at the same time as the establishment of the university. To date, we have concluded exchange agreements with universities and colleges in countries such as the United States, Canada, China, Korea, Russia, and Indonesia and have played an important role in the educational and research activities of the university through the promotion of studying abroad, overseas language programs, and overseas field studies. We seek to further expand our exchange partnerships with institutions across the globe to provide the opportunities for our students to study abroad and to increase the number of foreign exchange students here at the University of Niigata Prefecture.
We encourage students to participate in study abroad programs, short-term overseas study programs, and international exchange programs in order to broaden their horizons globally. Students have access to our Self-Access Learning Center (SALC) to boost their language skills. We are certain that our students will be able to gain the confidence and capabilities to tackle international challenges through these studies and experiences. The International Exchange Center actively support students who seek to engage in such challenges and endeavors.
Major Activities of the International Exchange Center
1. Planning and managing research and student exchanges with overseas universities.
2. Operating student exchange programs with overseas partner universities and
supporting students studying abroad in general.
3. Supporting overseas language study programs including English, Chinese, Korean,
and Russian courses, and overseas field studies.
4. Developing a system to accept international students and providing support for
their academic and daily activities.
